The Club has organised new Club tops featuring a variety of colours,with GBTC 50TH.ANNIVERSARY logo.ON SALE NOW @ CLUBHOUSE in a variety of sizes and designs.
Court 6 is ready for play during the Club Championships.Light foundations & wiring is in, and lights will be added as finance becomes available.The Club appreciates the Grant of $42 000 towards the Court, from The Tasmanian Government,through SPORT & RECREATION, and the support of the Clarence City Council in Guaranteeing our loans.
The new site of the "Bumping Wall" has been excavated,and will be completed as funds become available. The Club appreciates the support of the TELSTRA FUND to the value of $1 200 towards its construction.
GBTC 50TH. ANNIVERSARY - SUNDAY 3 FEB. 2008
The Club celebrated 50 years of tennis and fun at the Clubrooms. Social tennis and displays of old photos, pennants,racquets,and historical records of the past 50 years were on display.Incorporated was the official opening of the Clubhouse development, and the constructed new Court 6, and the re-location of the hitting wall by our Patron Allison Ritchie MLC.
The Club has displayed a photo (taken by the Mercury) of all participants at the 50th. Anniversary, featuring the Johnsons(Albert & Dawn).
A HISTORY of the Club has been researched and produced by Chris McKenzie, and can now be downloaded from the MENU on this Website.
The Club PENNANTS that were hung in the Clubhouse,have now been stored in folders @ the Clubrooms, and have also been put on the PENNANTS data base in the MENU of this website, and members can now call up / search / print pennants of interest.Any member who has a pennant to add contact the Secretary.
There are only a few remaining 50th.ANNIVERSARY red wines left, so don't miss out!!!
The AUSTRALIAN MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS are coming to Hobart in Jan.(18-29)2010 with games to be played at GBTC.Your chance to see some great tennis, and volunteer for a day!
The Club is pleased to welcome a group of app.20 veterans from NEW ZEALAND, who are touring the State, and coming to GBTC on Thursday 8th. May(10am - 3pm).GBTC members are welcome to join in the social tennis and lunch. Names on list on board please.
GBTC FUN DAY
Our annual Fun Day was held on SUNDAY 24 February 2008.
Some 50 juniors(andParents) enjoyed the fun and games.Thanks to the coaches,juniors and members who made it another great day!!!

The CITY OF CLARENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS against the other Eastern Shore Clubs will be held in September 2008. Members can register interest on the Notice Board.
